ak.Sys Networking Software September 29, 2000Akai Professional is pleased to introduce their newest leap forward in the art of sampling - Version 2.0 Operating Software for their S5000 and 56000 professional digital sampler;
Offering the options and features required by professional applications at a truly affordable price, the Akai S5000 and 56000 feature a 64-voice system, and both are upgradable to 128-voices. Programming options allow for up to 128 multi programs to be loaded into RAM at any one time, a 'QUICKLOAD' function to load programs directly into parts, and Akai's APM (Assignable Program Modulation) which offers a comprehensive range of filters, flexible envelope generators, LFOs and more. The 56000 also offers programmable "user keys" which can be assigned to any page for rapid access to commonly used functions.
Version 2.0 brings support for Akai's proprietary ak.Sys Networking Software, providing a Program Editor, Multi Editor and a Virtual 56000 Remote Control Panel offering convenient access to all sampler functions. Users are also able to set a preference for their favorite sample editor to be used within the ak.Sys Networking Software.
The USB networking option provides powerful new capabilities not available on any other sampling product in the marketplace. Up to 32 samplers can be controlled from one computer, allowing drag and drop operations directly between samplers ?? without the need to transfer programs and samples to disk or computer.
Additional enhancements include disk support of Roland CD?ROM's; E-Mu EIV SCSI disk support; Standard Midi File Player with a new "Set list" feature; Mono legato mode; Portamento mode; Floppy disk and FAT32 hard disk formatting options.
Version 2.0 Operating System Software will be available for download from the Akai website at www.akaipro.com immediately upon release.
