September 25, 2000Denon has
expanded its line of professional CD players with the introduction of
the new DN-2100F. The latest addition to Denon's extensive line of dual
CD players provides all of the high-quality features found in other Denon
players along with many newly-developed Denon-exclusives.
Denon has combined superior CD playback functionality along with several
unique tools for using the DN-2100F for not just a player, but also as
a creative tool. One of the more DJ oriented functions of the player is
a useful Seamless Loop feature which lets the user easily create a seamless
looping sequence (2 per drive) on a CD and further allows easy, instant
switching between the 2 set loops. The machine boasts a Hot Start/Stutter
control, which gives the capability of being able to start at either of
2 different Cue points on the fly with seamless audio playback. In Stutter
mode, the 2 Cue points are used for "Cue point sampling" which allows
for instant triggering of momentary audio when the appropriate button
is engaged and held, creating a "stutter" effect when done repeatedly.
In an effort to provide outstanding digital quality and the convenience
of CDs while keeping with the familiar "old-school" functionality of a
turntable, Denon has provided the Brake and Platter-S modes. Brake mode
gives the effect of bringing playing speed to a quick halt, like the Stop
function on a DJ turntable, while Platter-S mode can be used to simulate
the "dragging" sound of a turntable as if it has been purposely turned
on or off during playback. These along with features such as Denon's exclusive
"Digi-Scratch" feature gives the ability to "scratch" in real-time as
with a vinyl record on a turntable.
Additional features of the DN-2100F provide conveniences such as a Key
Adjust feature for changing the key of a song without changing playback
speed in conjunction with a Jog Bend/Pitch Bend function providing momentary
pitch change. This allows the user to fine tune beats while beat mixing
and is manipulated via buttons and the large Jog/Shuttle wheel. A Fader
Start function allows playback control via the cross fader on a compatible
fader start mixer. Instant and seamless control over playback of up to
4 different Cue points may be controlled this way.
Along improved functionality, Denon has maximized the units' basic features
for convenience and system integration. Easy to manipulate Jog/Shuttle
wheels, and faders complement the host of helpful features such as the
large character FL tube displays and bright disc tray LEDs. The Instant
Start function helps to ensure maximum play time while the Shock Proof
Memory system helps protect against audible interruptions in the audio.
The Auto Disc Tray Close System and Sleep functions help prevent accidental
damage and avoidable wear and tear on the system.
As with other dual CD players from Denon, features such as Playback Mode
(Single or Continuous), Repeat Play and Relay Playback are standard. For more information, visit their web site at www.denon.com. |
