Digidesign Previews Pro Tools Internet Collaboration at AES September 29, 2000 Digidesign announced an upcoming version of Pro Tools that will enable worldwide internet collaboration in DigiStudios. The first collaboration between Digidesign and its strategic partner, Rocket Network, DigiStudios are virtual workplaces for online audio collaboration and production, accessible via the Digidesign Production Network (DigiProNet.com). DigiStudios will liberate producers and talent from the constraints of being in one location to work together. To work in a DigiStudio, users will need the upcoming version of DigiStudio-enabled Pro Tools, a free downloadable DigiStudioControl client application, and a DigiStudio account via the DigiProNet web-site. Once the studio is set-up, takes can be tracked and sent at the click of a button. Contributors can upload both audio and midi track changes to a Pro Tools master arrangement which then automatically updates and distributes new parts to other studio participants.
