PRESS RELEASE

Power of Linux Harnessed to Digigram's np Runtime Driver

September 29, 2000

Digigram announced at the 109th Audio Engineering Society Convention here that np Runtime now includes a Linux driver for selected Digigram sound cards, making these cards available for Linux-based application development. Digigram's np Runtime which includes device drivers and installation routines, supports Red Hat Linux distribution 6.1

"The Linux driver signals our commitment to providing value-added products that support open source solutions," said Neil Glassman, president of Digigrarn Inc. "Now developers using the Linux platform can take advantage of the ease of use and powerful audio software management of the PCX Designer Kit to hasten bringing their applications to market."

Using the low-level PCX Designer Kit software development environment, applications can be written for the Digigram PCX820np and PCX821 np sound cards. These professional sound cards offer DSP-based audio processing, such as MPEG coding, time-stretch/shrink, and conversions that will be fully available to Linux programs written to the cards. PCX Designer Kit is an application programming interface (API) that provides access to low level driver functions using C/C++, In addition to Linux, PCX Designer Kit may be used to develop applications for Windows.

Also announced was the upcoming release of np Runtime for Windows 2000 compatibility. As with previous versions of np Runtime, developers may choose among various development environments including the PCX Designer Kit and the high level API, PCXtools.
