Kind of Loud Announces Support for Pro Tools
5.1Digidesign to Include KOL Products in PT
5.1 Release September 29, 2000Kind of Loud Technologies, a Universal Audio company,
has announced full support of the new Pro Tools 5.1 multichannel format for each of the company's
surround offerings.
SmartPan Pro, a surround panner released in March 1999, was the first product to bring true
5.1 mixing capabilities to Pro Tools. Kind of Loud has followed with a complete suite of surround
plug-ins including RealVerb 5.1, the TEC nominated surround reverb, Tweetie, a monitoring and
calibration plug-in, Woofie, used for bass management, and the SmartCode Pro Dolby and DTS
encoder products.
"When we started out, we had a plan to offer a complete suite of surround production products for
Pro Tools. Unfortunately, at the time we were ready, the platform was not surround-capable. To
create a basis for our products, we had to begin with basic panning. We are delighted that Pro Tools
is now surround capable, and our products which are already well known to the Pro Tools
cognoscenti, will be 5.1 compatible upon its release," said Jonathan Abel, CTO.
The initial release of Pro Tools 5.1 will include both Tweetie and Woofie as part of a special
surround bundle offered by Digidesign. Tweetie and Woofie both include tools necessary for
professional surround production, but not included in the Pro Tools 5.1 software. For more information, visit their web site at www.kindofloud.com. |
