September 22, 2000Otari Corporation has announced two new software upgrades for the Radar I and Radar II HDR Series Multitrack recorders. The announcement was made by Otari Vice President Tim Schaeffer, and further underscores the companys commitment to supporting Otari customers with true value-added technology.
Version 2.15 software (for Radar II) is the culmination of countless hours of research and debugging, in an effort to provide users with the most stable, and feature packed upgrade to date. V2.15 includes: Waveform Display, Macro Keys, Digital Track Assignment, Offset Calculate/Capture, Salvage Partially-Restored Projects, DVD-RAM Backup, Incoming Time Code Display, RE-8II Track Buttons (now fully operational), Backup Size Display, and SCSI ID for DVD backup.
In addition, the following options are available: AES Multichannel, DVD-RAM, AIT & Exabyte Mammoth backup, Seagate & IBM 9GB-36GB drives, Radar TDIF/Mackie D8B Menu implementation, as well as a Quick Reference Guide for easy navigation around the unit.
Otari customers who invested in Radar I can now benefit from the release of Version 1.56 software that includes enhancements in Disk configuration, Sync implementation, Fault Reporting, RADARLINK, and improved overall functionality. Specific features include Synchronous SCSI Support, Distributed/Redundant Playlist Storage, new enhanced Sync User Interface, Illegal Sample Rate Detection, Restore 16-bit mode Radar II audio, Selective Backup and Restore mode/Monitor (SMPTE 25 frame default), Rechase timecode Mode Preference, Custom Disk Configuration, Smart Disk Defect Management, Automatic Reclaim, Customized Screen Saver, RE-8II Support, and Record While in Cycle mode.
