Otari Corporation, the industry's leading manufacturer of production consoles, multitrack recorders and digital audio products, announces the introduction of the new Status 2 Digitally Controlled Analog Console. Based on their popular Status desk, the new Status 2 is designed to be a state-of-the-art, affordable 5.1 surround capable console offering all the quality and dependability of an analog board, with the versatility of digital control. The Status 2 hosts many new features including:

  • Console is now 24-bus. Up from 12
  • 5-way panner on each input module
  • M-Mon option available
  • New automated joystick panner for surround panning

Because the Status 2 operates like a conventional analog console, yet is digitally controlled, there is no additional learning curve needed to operate the board. In addition, the Status 2 offers a broad range of standard features like master switching, dual path equalized channel architecture, Image Recall, Eagle automation, VCA or motorized faders, frame sizes up to 96 automated inputs as well as an optional dynamics package and patchbay.

"We redesigned the Status 2 to meet the growing demand for an affordable 5.1 ready desk," stated Tim Schaeffer, Otari Vice President. "With the increase in surround sound in the post-production and music recording markets, we believe Status 2 will find its way into many of the leading facilities specializing in those projects."
