Roland Introduces VE-7000 Channel Edit Controller

Offers Tactile Control for 7000-Series V-Mixing System

(Click for a close-up)
September 26, 2000

Roland is proud to announce the VE-7000 Channel Edit Controller for the acclaimed 7000-Series V-Mixing System. This compact control surface provides analog-style control—including physical knobs and switches—over common mixing operations such as gain, EQ, and Flex Bus, while preserving the V-Mixing System’s compact design. The VE-7000 is also equipped with a joystick for instant surround panning, making it an essential tool for professional mixing applications or when faster operation is required.

While the Roland VM-7000-Series V-Mixing System has been heralded for its superior sound quality and ease of use, the addition of the VE-7000 Channel Edit Controller makes using this powerful digital mixer more like an analog desk. Essentially an external channel strip, the VE-7000 offers dedicated knobs and switches for making adjustments to all of the parameters of a channel such as input gain, panning, EQ and Flex Bus sends. Four dual-purpose knobs can be used to control Delay (including Direct Level, Delay Level, Feedback, and Delay Time) or Dynamics (including Threshold, Ratio, Attack, and Release). A built-in joystick provides instant surround panning.

To use the VE-7000, users must select the channel they would like to work with by pressing the appropriate Channel Edit button on the VM Console. This channel now becomes active on the VE-7000, enabling users to make adjustments using the knobs and switches. To access a channel’s more detailed parameter pages—including Preamp, EQ, and Flex Bus Send—users simply press the VE-7000’s Edit button and the console’s display will jump directly to the appropriate window, making the V-Mixing System more streamlined than ever.

Designed to be placed directly on the VM-C7200 Console, the compact VE-7000 uses magnets for secure mounting while remaining small enough to be placed alongside a VM-C7100 Console. MIDI In/Out jacks provide communication between the VE-7000 and V-Mixer.
