Solid State Logic Features Axiom-MT Digital Multi-Track Console at AES New Hardware Options and Latest Software Version Showcased Solid State Logic Axiom-MT Digital Console (Click for a close-up) September 23, 2000 Solid State Logic, the world leader in digital and analogue consoles for the music, broadcast, post and film industries, will present the Axiom-MT digital multi-track console at the 109th annual AES show, held from September 22 to 25 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Booth 701. SSL will be featuring the MT’s new hardware options and the latest software version. SSL’s attention to the needs of today’s top engineers, such as Chuck Ainlay, Derek Bason, Bob Bullock, Dana Jon Chappelle, Humberto Gatica, Dan Gellert, Eddie Kramer, Justin Niebank and Bruce Swedien have made the MT the digital console of choice for sonic clarity, system flexibility and reliability. At the AES, the best is now even better with significant hardware and software enhancements, responding to the requests of the industry. Most significant is a new SuperAnalogue™ mic. amp., designed to solve all arguments about quality and delays when recording and overdubbing by offering the ultimate in quality, speed and precision, with a long list of additional user-friendly features. Also at AES is SSL’s new digital linear motor fader, with four character LED display and virtual detents for easier control of null points and level matching. These new faders are individually hot-swappable, providing quick servicing and reduced spares inventory. Advertisement Version 2.2 software enhancements start with EQ functions. New EQ processing set-up options allow operators a generous choice of EQ profiles that are instantly assignable to any channel or channel group. New signal latency management tools are in place to time-compensate for additional signal paths introduced when using external inserts. Because many freelance engineers bring analogue and digital outboard gear into the studio, the latency software streamlines session operations. The already comprehensive automation system has several new features designed to increase mixing flexibility and operator familiarity, making the MT immediately comfortable to use. Additionally, new metering options for stereo channels as well as both main and banked signal paths offer the engineer more visual information during a session.
