Soundcraft Launches Broadway Offline
Editor and Version 3 Software September 25, 2000Soundcraft has announced the simultaneous launch
of the Broadway Offline Editor and Version 3 of the Broadway Main System
Software.
The Broadway Offline Editor software is a stand-alone software package
for the PC. The OLE offers creation and editing of Cue Lists including
naming and assignment of Input and Output channels, VCAs and MIDI Events
in a familiar environment, making offline advance programming for a large
show, or adaptation of existing shows, a fast and simple process.
The Offline Editor will read and edit existing Broadway projects or
create new projects from scratch. All "Intelligent Cue List"
features from the Broadway touchscreen have been implemented, including
Rippling of assignments (automatic copying of parameters through the show)
and Replay Scope functions.
New to the Offline Editor, however, is the concept of Channel "Families"--
any channel may be given up to four "Family" names. This information
may then be used to assist in VCA assignments on the desk, as the operator
can simply enter a family as the VCA Master name, and all members of that
Family will be assigned automatically to that VCA Master.
Version 3 Main System Software brings integration of the Offline Editor,
but also offers extensive crossfade capabilities. Manually executed or
timed fades are now available with programmable switch points for non-level
functions, and automatic sequences of cues may now be created, with user-defined
follow-on times between cues.
The Offset Group feature has also been enhanced. Allowing automatic
tracking of manual changes throughout the show, once a show is complete,
these temporary changes, or "offsets", may be discarded or written
to selected channels in user-defined cues as required.
Broadway consoles have recently been installed in Hong Kong, at the
Academy of Performing Arts, and in Barcelona, at the Liceu Opera House. For more information, visit their web site at www.soundcraft.com. |
