Westlake Audio will feature the Lc265.1 center channel speaker at the 109th AES Convention, held from September 22nd to the 25th at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Booth 1101. The Lc265.1 is Westlake’s first truly dedicated multi-channel product.

"The Lc265.1 can be used in a variety of applications—from studio multi-channel installations to home applications," says Ken Centofante, sales and marketing director for Westlake Audio. "This is a very unique speaker. Because it employs a coaxial midrange/high-frequency driver, it can be placed vertically or horizontally to offer excellent dispersion in either position."

The Lc265.1 is compact (8.5" W x 22" H x 11" D) with extensive electro-mechanical-acoustical dampening, and an integrated passive crossover for single or bi-amp operation. The Lc265.1 comprises of dual 6.5-inch woofers, a five-inch midrange with a coaxially mounted one-inch tweeter. Power handling is rated at 95 watts continuous and a sensitivity rating of 91dB @ 1M for 2.83V input.

The Lc265.1’s frequency response is 48Hz-18kHz with an impedance level of 5 ohms nominal/3 ohms minimum with dual-banana, five-way binding posts and bi-wire/bi-amp capability. The Lc265.1 comes finished in black utility paint and includes a one-year warranty. Optional accessories include speaker muffs and speaker cables.

"The Lc265.1 is magnetically shielded for placement next to video monitors and is perfect for use in surround sound applications," says Centofante. "This speaker can be used as a dedicated center channel or in L/C/R or 5-channel configurations. With its high output, wide bandwidth and flexibility for placement it is a perfect choice for a variety of applications."
