Digidesign Announces New Production Network Website

Advertisement Digidesign today announced the forthcoming launch of the Digidesign Production Network, DigiProNet.com, and its key partners. Extending the industry's leading audio production tools beyond the desktop, DigiProNet.com will feature the most comprehensive suite of Internet-enabled audio production services available on the World Wide Web. Offering a one-stop location for collaboration and business-to-business services, The Digidesign Production Network will offer review and approval, DigiStudios for professional recording across the globe, a talent pool resource, and an audio marketplace for buying and selling sounds. Joining Digidesign in its production network services are several key partners including AvidProNet.com, Rocket Network, SoundExplorers.com, and SpotTaxi.com. Digidesign and Avid are committed to providing seamless integration between their industry-leading desktop audio and video tools and the new web-based production services offered via DigiProNet.com and AvidProNet.com. Integrated login and collaboration on key services are key initiatives for the two sites. In early 2001, Digidesign customers will be able to access Avid's web-based review and approval, which allows multiple reviewers to easily write notes and comments to audio and/or video media at any point in the project timeline. DigiProNet will also feature internet collaboration in DigiStudios early next year, the result of a strategic alliance announced earlier this year between Digidesign/Avid and Rocket Network. Each DigiStudio provides a virtual workplace for online audio production. Using an upcoming DigiStudio-enabled version of Pro Tools, producers and talent worldwide will enjoy the richest collaboration experience possible – providing the ultimate in speed, flexibility and convenience for any type of audio production. For easy access to a wealth of online sound effects, samples, and production music, Digidesign has recently made SoundExplorers (SE.com) its exclusive provider of professional royalty-free sound library content on DigiProNet.com. SE.com is a new subsidiary of the Hollywood company Sound Dogs, created to provide audio media content from their vast catalog to DigiProNet. SoundExplorers.com and Digidesign intend to collaborate on a seamless workflow for the audition and purchase of online sounds for Pro Tools users in the coming year. The terms of this strategic alliance are subject to the signing of definitive documents. Central Media Inc. (CMI) owner and operator of SpotTaxi.com, the leader in internet based radio advertising distribution and management systems, is the latest company to join Digidesign in alliance. Created in response to the lack of high-quality, cost-efficient radio spot distribution methods, SpotTaxi.com's integrated package incorporates the specific needs of the advertising agency, the production facility and radio station to deliver radio advertising using DigiProNet.com. SpotTaxi.com allows clients to access radio spots for review and approval, and offers users several features to streamline the workflow in the spot distribution process. The site provides integrated traffic instructions, simplified billing services and e-mail delivery of streaming audio advertising to facilitate the agency-client approval process.
