Electro-Voice is displaying the FRi Series of loudspeakers at AES, Booth #440. Targeted toward sound reinforcement and fixed installation applications, the FRi Series combines Electro-Voices Ring-Mode Decoupling (RMD) technology with key elements of EVs X-Array loudspeaker technology to produce significantly increased vocal clarity and intelligibility. "Whats unique about this loudspeaker system is its combination of high-performance and flexibility," says Jamie Bergen, EV product category manager for loudspeakers. "Multiple suspension points allow for vertical and horizontal orientation, a trapezoidal cabinet design creates a variety of installation options and RMD technology offers incredible sonic performance. The FRi Series literally has something for every fixed installation application."
The FRi Series includes the following models:
Other features of the FRi Series include a passive/bi-amp design with tamper-resistant simple jumper design for easy change-over, rotatable 60° x 40° horns and DH2+ drivers for increased performance and durability. Installing the FRi Series is made easier due to barrier strip connections, reinforced heavy-gauge internal supports for increased enclosure durability and 13-ply birch void-free plywood for rugged enclosure and for ease of installation. The FRi Series also incorporates flexibility into its exterior design, with metal cabinet grilles designed to accommodate custom fabric coverings to match a variety of interior decors, and a durable black paint finish as standard with a white painted finish or unfinished cabinets available as an option.
