Included at this years show will be the new Platinum 4 MixMaster stereo mix processor. MixMaster is designed to be used on the output of a consoles main stereo output bus during mixdown or with a console as an interim processor during the recording process from a stereo send/insert. Designed for project studio mastering applications, MixMaster is a 2U, 19" rack mount unit comprising the following sections: stereo line inputs operable at 10 dBV or +4 dBu levels, stereo expander, multi-band compressor, (3 bands) 3-band EQ with swept high and low bands and a parametric mid band with 10x scale. Optionally, MixMaster can be fitted with a 24-bit/96kHz stereo digital A/D card that can be used to feed a mastering machine, such as a DAT or CD-R. It can also be used as a standalone stereo converter when transferring audio from one machine to another. MixMaster is now shipping and has an MSRP of $1,395 (USD).
