Mytek Digital of New York has announced development of D-Master DSD Digital Master Recorder. The unit is a 4 channel stereo recorder combined with ultimate quality 64x and 128x DSD converters. D-Master records DSD to any standard SCSI media including DVD-RAM2 , AIT and DLT tape backup and hard disks. Our recording experiments and tests confirm superiority of DSD over any other digital audio format. Its hard to describe in words, but DSD does indeed sound 'analog', said Michal Jurewicz of Mytek Inc. The format sound quality is what mostly influenced our decision to move to DSD, I believe DSD could be the final stop on the quest for ultimate digital audio format. We are closely collaborating with Sony DSD team, and I must say that working on this new uncharted territory has been extremely exciting D-Master DSD is targeted as a replacement for 30 IPS analog tape . Its intended uses include mixdown, mastering, archiving and live tracking applications. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.mytekdigital.com/.
