Gold Line Introduces TEF 20 Sound Lab Polar ETC at AES
 November 30, 2001 Gold Line increases the functionality and usability of their TEF20 acoustical analysis system with the introduction of Sound Lab Polar ETC software for Windows at AES 2001. Polar ETC allows TEF users to rapidly identify the direction of origin for any reflection, and provides the basis for selection and placement of acoustical materials.
The Sound Lab Polar ETC windows software can be ordered either with a microphone stand and a microphone positioning arm for ($495) SLPET50, or as a deluxe kit with the stand, positioning arm, a cardioid microphone, precision laser pointer and a hard carry case for ($795) SLPET-Kit.
Polar ETC uses Time Delay Spectrometry to collect the ETC "Energy Time Curve" for each of the cardinal directions plus up and down. It then automatically post processes the data, and converts it to a simple graph and coordinates showing the direction of origin for any reflection. Users with the SLPET-Kit can then simply place the laser pointer in the positioning arm, set it to the displayed coordinates, and the laser will show the location from which the reflection originated.
In addition to providing demonstrations of the new Sound Lab Polar ETC, Gold Line will be showing TDS, SLX, Polar and RTA Windows software for the TEF, and sr. engineers from Gold Line will be available to speak with attendees about the new software and ongoing development projects.
