ATC Introduces T16 Loudspeaker Monitor

Transamerica Audio Group, the U.S. Distributor for ATC Loudspeakers is showcasing a new ATC Loudspeaker monitor, the T16, at AES 2002 Los Angeles. ATC (Acoustic Transducer Company), a specialist British manufacturer of loudspeaker drive units and complete sound reproduction systems, has designed and engineered the ATC T16 Special Edition monitor, to offer unique voicing for the American rock 'n' roll market. This is the first in a new series of active monitors from ATC Loudspeakers. The two-way ported arrangement and all-new components of the T16 are designed for higher output levels and increased bass output.
Each T16 monitor contains dedicated amplifiers matched to the specification of the drive units, which comprise a new high-efficiency 6.5-inch soft dome mid-bass loudspeaker driven by a long, flat ribbon wire-wound voice coil plus a one-inch soft-dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet. The integral amplifiers deliver 250W of continuous power, 200W to the woofer and 50W to the tweeter, to accommodate the demands of modern music production.
The T16 provides users with ATC's signature clarity in a portable near field meter bridge monitor. Housed in a curved and heavily damped cast-aluminum cabinet the T16 Special Edition shares the familiar futuristic good looks of the company's SCM20A near field monitor system and is available in a variety of custom colors. Variable bass boost and sensitivity controls are located on the rear panel. The T16 Special Edition is priced at $3,000 per pair.
