KRK Introduces Four-Way M2-18 October 8, 2002
KRK Systems has announced the introduction of the ultimate main system - the M2-18. The dual 18", active four-way M218 was designed for in-wall studio installations where compromise is not an option. With extreme high-power handling, anchored by 14kW of power and two four-way 24-bit/96kHz digital crossovers, the M2-18 can achieve peak music SPL in excess of 125dB.
Featuring a 1" carbon ring diaphragm (HF), 1" Carbon Fiber Compression Horn (mid), 2 x 10" high-strength mid bass drivers, carbon fiber compression (mid), 2 x 18" very high-power-handling woofers, optional Amplification at 360 watts, 1,145 watts and 2,375 watts, and a frequency response of 19Hz to 20kHz +2dB, the M2-18 system is the definitive main system.
Molded into a stylish cabinet array, this four-speaker system makes the impact and stereo imaging of instruments and soundtracks a truly amazing experience. Extensive cabinet bracing manages the low-frequency thunder of two 18" woofers. Because of the overall size of this system, the cabinets can be separated to allow the upper frequency 3-way to fit existing studio soffits, placing the 2 x 18" bass enclosures on the floor.
