SonicStudio HD 1.8 Launched at AES

Sonic Studio, LLC unveiled SonicStudio HD 1.8 at the 113th AES Convention. The first product release from Sonic Studio, the company formed earlier this year to develop and market the SonicStudio HD line of digital audio editing and pre-mastering workstations, SonicStudio HD 1.8 offers enhancements to existing functions as well as many instability fixes.
Enhancements within the new SonicStudio HD 1.8 include much improved editing functionality, contextual menus, vastly improved lock to timecode and a brand new user guide and documentation. Improvements include Gain Overlay Enhancements, Lock/UnLock Gain Node Commands, and Contextual Menu Support, notably for Selected Segments and for PQ Marks. Improved functionality includes Save Reversed; Paste to In Point; Navigate to Next/Previous EDL Commands; PQ Marks Lock Status Display; Edit with Audio Support for Desk Events, Gain Overlay and SRPs; Transport Panel/MC Sync; Manual DeClicking on an entire Edit Group; Export EDL as AIFF; SRP Export/Import; and Multiple Zoom to Previous/Next View.
The new SonicStudio HD 1.8 additionally incorporates over a dozen resolved issues.
Built on the HDSP array processing architecture and incorporating the advanced HDSP and RISC technology, SonicStudio HD is a complete, one-stop audio production solution that supports multi-channel sampling rates up to 192kHz with integrated surround sound mixing and offers an ultra-fast editing interface. Every SonicStudio HD system includes up to eight channels of 24-bit/96kHz audio (or four channels of 24-bit/192kHz I/O) with segment-based HDSP processing of EQ and gain and high-quality HD multichannel sample-rate conversion as standard.
Authoring options for Super Audio CD, DVD-Audio and audio for DVD-Video for SonicStudio HD are provided through Sonic Solutions' OneClick DVD and advanced DVD-Audio authoring technology. CD preparation tools are included as standard, supporting PQ code editing, ISRC codes, UPC editing and direct CD-R and DDP. Sonic's NoNoise audio processing now incorporates the exclusive SonicClarity and provides users with an end-to-end all-48-bit data path.
