ESI Debuts 24/96 DVD Deck for Audio Mastering

Advertisement ESI introduced the M-fire MF9600, a stand-alone 24-bit/96kHz DVD recorder designed as a stereo mastering deck for audio. This 2-rack space unit supports the existing DVD-Video format, allowing finished discs to be played back on any standard DVD player. The M-fire is fully functional as a rewritable machine and utilizes DVD-RW media as well as DVD-R's, CDR's and CDRW's. In CD mode, discs are written at 16-bit/44.1 kHz. Features of the M-fire include a straight-forward, tape deck style, button layout and user friendly LCD display menu. Stereo analog inputs and outputs are equipped with 24-bit/96kHz converters. Both S/PDIF coaxial and AES/EBU digital formats are supported for the digital I/O. Other standard features include a wireless remote control, 1/4-inch headphone monitor with volume control, and a USB interface for future firmware updates.
