Sony Unveils DMX-P01 Portable Digital Mixer

Sony Electronics introduced the DMX-P01, a lightweight and portable digital field-mixing unit developed for electronic news gathering (ENG) and electronic field production (EFP) recording. "Designed to address remote location recording for ENG, EFP and film production, the key to this new digital mixer is its outstanding sonic performance," said Paul Foschino, senior manager of reseller marketing for Sony Electronics' Business Solutions and Systems Company. "This can be attributed to a 32-bit, full digital sound processing." According to Foschino the unit also features a digital limiter/compressor, which is a real asset for any kind of recording. The unit's unique Scene Memory Recall feature enables users to instantly recall up to ten different user-defined parameter settings, providing the DMX-P01 portable digital mixer with the ability to store and recall settings including limiter and compressor. This allows users to recall favorite settings instantly, which is very useful when switching between different recording environments. Features of the new mixer include:
