AKG Acoustics announced its new K
101 headphones at AES, offering an open-back
design with clean, modern
European styling and AKG's patented comfort features.
AKG's K 101 is a lightweight headphone with heavyweight sound thanks to its
new computer-optimized MX20 transducer design. The K 101 has a wide 18 --
22,000 Hz frequency response.
The K 101 features high 101 dB sensitivity and low 19-ohm impedance ensuring
compatibility with any low-output audio device including portable CD
players, MP3 players and notebook computers. This incredibly lightweight
design weighs only 160 grams (5.6 oz), making it ideal for use in portable
applications.
The K 101 headphones have AKG's comfort-fit features including a
self-adjusting leather headband that provides automatic adjustment to the
user's head for maximum comfort. The leatherette ear pads are easy to remove
for cleaning. Other features include a single-sided, oxygen-free copper
input cable with gold-plated 1/8-inch plug and screw-on 1/4-inch adaptor for
plug compatibility.
AKG's K 101 has a suggested retail
price of $84.
All AKG headphones include a two-year parts and labor warranty.
