PRESS RELEASE

New NHTPro M-20 Reference/Mixing Monitor Shown at AES

Wide on Top, Narrow on the Bottom, Produces Wider Dispersion for Near-/Mid-Field Applications

October 14, 2003

NHTPro announced it will soon ship the M-20 near-/mid-field monitor ($1,000 per channel), featuring a flat, wide baffle across the tweeter and a narrower baffle surrounding the woofer, respectively providing more even dispersion and enhanced imaging over an extended listening area.

Unlike the A-20, there are no parallel surfaces inside the M-20's cabinet, so internal standing waves remain random, affording an improved overall midrange frequency response of 45Hz -- 20kHz +/-1.5dB.

The M-20 is sold by the channel, and includes a 250 Watt monaural control amplifier that fits in a single rack space. The amp features the same set of extensive set of controls found on the A-20, including boundary compensation, listening distance proximity and switchable input sensitivity as well as a diagnostics window to display the average power output, heat sink temperature and line voltage.

Cabinet dimensions for the M-20 are 15" (H) x 13" (W) x 10" (D). Each monitor weighs 18 lbs.

S-20 Matching Subwoofer

To complement the M-20, NHTPro is introducing the S-20 stereo subwoofer system ($2,000 per system), which is based on the B-20 system design.

The three piece S-20 system extends bass response down to 25Hz (-6dB), adding full frequency response and dynamics to near- and mid-field monitoring environments. In mono mode, the S-20 can be used as a .1 subwoofer for surround monitoring, or it may be used in stereo to add full range response to a pair of M-20 monitors.

The S-20 features two (2) 10" ultra-high excursions, acoustic suspension woofers in a 14" (H) x 14" (W) x 16" (D) cabinet that weighs 37 lbs. Also included is a dedicated, external two-channel amplifier that delivers 250 Watts per channel (RMS)/400 Watts (peak), yet takes up only two rack spaces.

The full set of controls makes it easy to integrate the S-20 with NHTPro's M-20, or any monitor in almost any room. The system includes a remote control that makes it easy to manage stereo/mono switching and system-in/system-bypass on the fly.

Both the M-20 and S-20 will be available direct from the manufacturer, beginning March 2004.
