All Current RME Cards Compatible with Apple's G5

RME has announced that all of their currently sold cards are fully compatible to Apple's new G5 computers. Since 1998, RME has been using the future-proof 3 Volt technology in all their PCI-based products. All products except the DIGI32 series of interface cards can be used with any computer having PCI-X slots, like server motherboards, SGI workstations or G5 computers. This includes all cards of the DIGI96 series, Hammerfall series and Hammerfall DSP series.
The 3 Volt compatible cards can be easily recognized: they have a second notch within the PCI connector contacts.
In 1999, a batch of DIGI96 and Hammerfall cards has been shipped, which included a PCB error, making them incompatible to 3 Volt computers. "If a computer won't boot with an older DIGI96 or Hammerfall series card inserted, then this card can be easily modified by any competent technician within a minute. The modification even doesn't need soldering. Of course, in case such a modification is necessary, it can also be done for free by RME," Matthias Carstens explained.
As upcoming 64-bit computers from Intel or AMD will also have PCI-X slots, RME expects full compatibility with these systems too.
