Combining familiar front panel controls with digital signal processing, Rane's full-featured G4 Quad Gate is suitable for use in a variety of demanding dynamics processing applications. Gating, ducking and downward expansion modes are offered, together with internal high- and low-cut filters and external side-chain inputs, making it the ideal tool for front of house, monitor, instrument and voice processing, broadcast and recording.
The G4 is a member of Rane's new family of digital products specifically targeted at the needs of sound reinforcement professionals. Other products in the family include the MM 42 Monitor Processor, AC 24 Active Crossover, DEQ 60 Graphic Equalizer, PEQ 55 Parametric Equalizer, and the upcoming C4 Quad Compressor.
- Each channel operates in Gate, Expand or Duck mode.
- Look-ahead Gating.
- All inputs and outputs use XLR or TRS connectors; auto-balanced or unbalanced operation.
- Balanced, external side-chain (key) input for each channel.
- Side-chain processing flexibility:
- Internal/External mode
- Low- and high-cut filters
- Side-chain Listen
- Adjacent channel pairs can be linked for stereo operation.
The G4 begins shipping in December 2003.
