DTS Encoding Option Coming to Nuendo October 14, 2003
Steinberg announced support of the DTS (Digital Theater Systems, Inc.) encoder for the Nuendo media production system.
DTS is one of the most widely accepted formats for Surround Sound developed by Digital Theater Systems. DTS became well known with Stephen Spielberg's box office hit Jurassic Park and is not only responsible for many advancements in the movie industry but is also well known in the music and audio production industry.
The DTS encoding process has been specifically licensed to Steinberg to offer Nuendo users access to the next stage in the Surround Sound production process. The encoding is integrated as DTS file format in Nuendo's export dialogue. The necessary routines are all automated so that the user can export the full mix directly as a DTS file, without any previous down-mixing - ready for use in the authoring stage. The DTS encoded audio can be saved as a .WAV file to directly burn a 5.1 mix to CD or to upload the file for client previews.
Pricing & Availability
The Nuendo DTS Encoder will be available from select Steinberg dealers worldwide in October 2003. Suggested retail price is $1499.99 MSRP.
