A&G Shows Spatialisation-X-Series Card for Rosetta 800 at AES
October 31, 2004
A&G Soluzioni Digitali unveiled its new hardware for multi-channel audio production or live performance, called Spatialisation X-Series Card, or simply, the X-Spat card).
Conceived as an optional card for the Apogee Electronics's Rosetta 800 AD/DA converter, it provides full firewire connectivity to the external world. Additional MIDI IN/OUT's ports are provided to connect any audio application or external hardware DSP processor. The MIDI implementation offers full compatibility with the surround panning features of the best audio/MIDI softwares on the market like DP4, Nuendo, Logic Pro, Sonar 3, ProTools and many others. X-Spat Controller softwares for Mac OS X and Windows XP are included in the package.
The Spatialisation-X-Series Card is based on a cluster of ADSP-21161N processors dedicated to signal routing, preprocessing of inputs to audio matrix, sends, returns and effects. The Matrix offer various 3D Positional Audio effects in real time, including Loudness, ITD and Doppler. The board allows 8 to 12 input channels (computer to DSP card) and up to 12 output channels (DSP to computer). A routing section allows total reconfiguration of all the available inputs, Rosetta 800' analog and digital or FireWire. Surround 5.1 or 7.1 configurations, with discrete channels, offer also external sends and stereo/mono monitoring options. MacOSX CoreAudio, Windows XP WDM drivers and various A&G softwares are included in the package.
Feature Summary:
- Compatible with Apple's OS X built-in FireWire Core Audio driver
- Supplied with Windows XP WDM/ASIO driver
- Up to 8 input channels
- Up to 8 output channels (5.1, 7.1, 8.0 configurations supported with discrete channels and stereo/mono monitoring options)
- 24-bit, 44.1/48/88.2/96 KHz
- Internal processing in floating point
- 202 parameters available for real time control via internal or external MIDI ports
- X-Spat Controller software for Mac OS X or WinXP included
- A&G patent pending Spatialisation technology included
A dedicated web site for the X-Spat has been created at xspat.aegweb.it.
