Aviom Kicks Off Pro64 Series of Products at AES October 13, 2005
Aviom, Inc. is releasing its second generation of products at AES 2005, adding to its Pro16 series of monitor mixing and audio networking products. The new product line, known as Pro64, includes Aviom's latest advances in audio networking technology. The original Pro16 series of products, which includes the popular A-16II Personal Mixer, remain in the line.
"The coming year will see the development of several new Pro16 products as well as the complete Pro64 line," says Dan Garrett, Aviom's vice president of sales and marketing. "We've given audio highest priority in all A-Net products. Putting audio first is the only way to move digital audio in a network context. Other networking systems that rely on standard Ethernet protocols impose restrictions on system topology and signal flow directionality."
Pro64 audio network products are designed to solve audio distribution problems in a wide variety of contexts, including digital snakes used in live performance and the complex audio distribution needs of recording studios, post production facilities, and theaters. Pro64 products can be configured in almost any topology, making them some of the most versatile audio networking products currently available.
The Pro64 line of audio networking products includes: 6416i Analog Input Module, 6416m Mic Input Module, 6432dio Digital I/O Module, 6416o Output Module, 6488io Analog I/O Module, and MH10 Merger Hub. All Pro64 series products include high-end audio features such as variable sample rates up to 192kHz, high channel count, and unlimited system expansion.
A-Net Pro64 includes Virtual Data Cable (VDC) connectivity for MIDI, GPIO contact and switch closures, and RS-232 computer data. Virtual Data Cables allow users to configure and transmit up to fourteen channels of non-audio data throughout the Pro64 network without compromising audio bandwidth. Long cable runs of up to 500 feet (150 meters) between A-Net Pro64 devices in a system are possible.
