Two New DJ Models Added to AKG's Headphone Line

AKG engineers mixed their decades of experience designing and building headphones with suggestions from internationally known DJs and insights from DJ mixer manufacturer UREI to develop the new K 81 and K 181 DJ headphones.
AKG's 3D-Axis folding mechanism makes it easy to adjust the new DJ 'phones to any listening position. High power handling combined with high sensitivity delivers the sonic impact that DJs demand with minimal distortion, while the Stereo/Mono selector allows single-earphone monitoring without signal loss. AKG has become the first and only manufacturer to incorporate a feature requested by top DJs from New York to Paris, from London to Tokyo, from Melbourne to Berlin: the Sound Selector, a switch that lets the DJ adjust the music's bass intensity to match his taste and the listening environment.
The professional features of the K 181 DJ include:
- 3D-Axis mechanism that stands up to the way DJs use their 'phones: putting them on, taking them off, twisting the headband to use one ear cup. 3D-Axis allows the ear cups to pivot side-to-side and up-down into any listening positioning, handles the mechanical stress with a light yet strong magnesium alloy frame, then folds up to a small package at the end of the night (or morning, as the case may be) for easy transportation.
- Extreme output capability: the K 181 DJ has impressive sensitivity, yet maintains AKG's legendary sonic accuracy with minimal distortion even at the highest volume levels and delivers frequency response of 5 Hz to 30 kHz
- Dynamic, closed-back ear cups attenuate ambient noise, so even quiet passages can be monitored at the loudest, noisiest clubs and parties
- Soft, replaceable ear pads.
- Detented headband allows easy adjustment to the user's head size
- Sound Selector: match the sound of both large and small sound systems with the two-stage Sound Selector switch that adjust bass intensity to match the DJ's taste and working environment
- Stereo/Mono Selector sums the audio to mono for single-earphone monitoring
- Non-slip, soft-touch elastomer inserts ensure solid, secure handling no matter how hot and sweaty things get
- Detachable single-sided input cable with professional locking mini-XLR connector stows away for easy transportation. The cable can be easily replaced with your choice of a straight or optional coiled cable
