Apogee Introduces V-Bus: Zero Latency, Virtual Bus Technology For Symphony

October 6, 2006

Today at AES, Apogee Electronics Corporation announced V-Bus, a Virtual bussing technology for Symphony, Apogee's multi-channel PCI card.

Utilizing Apogee's super-fast Symphony driver, V-Bus provides unlimited routing possibilities across multiple applications in any Symphony equipped G5 or Mac Pro.

V-Bus provides the ability to record bus outputs in Logic Pro, a feature long sought after by Logic users. Additionally, V-Bus enables audio routing between various Core Audio applications, such as iTunes and Final Cut Pro. With up to 32 buses per Symphony card, V-Bus offers zero latency performance with minimal processing power to ensure maximum audio performance.

Apogee Co-Founder and President Betty Bennett comments, "The environment presented by Symphony and Core Audio has enabled the creation of utilities such as V-Bus, making V-Bus an impressive addition to an already exciting system." She continues, "We have worked closely with our customers to address the need for greater control over routing in the native environment and V-Bus is the result. The ability to create virtual connections within and between any Core Audio applications will be incredibly useful."
