Furman will be introducing and demonstrating new products and technologies at this year's AES Convention.

Audio Hum Removal—IT-20 II

At Furman's audio hum removal demonstration, attendees can hear first-hand the benefits of using the IT-20 II balanced isolation transformer to remove ground hum and interference. Designed for the most critical, ultra-low-noise applications, the IT-20 II provides 20 amps of pure, isolated, balanced power. The center-tapped isolation transformer provides complete and total isolation from the power grid, resulting in systems free of the hum and buzz caused by AC ground loops.

Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT)—Power Factor Pro R

The Furman Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT) demonstration, in which real-time AC line noise analysis will be displayed, will compare Furman's LiFT technology to the filtering scheme found in typical power conditioners and filters.

Furman's Power Factor Pro R redefines power conditioning for guitarists, bassists, keyboard players, and anyone else who needs clean power and current on demand for their instrument amplifiers and PA systems. Furman's Power Factor technology keeps amplifiers sounding consistent, no matter the power quality or line impedance provided by the venue. Linear Filtering Technology reduces differential AC noise evenly across a wide bandwidth to provide a lower noise floor and increased dynamic range, while also offering comprehensive protection with virtually non-sacrificial SMP (Series Multi-Stage Protection) surge suppression and EVS (Extreme Voltage Shutdown).

Headphone Monitoring System—HDS-16/HRM-16

Enabling musicians on stage or in a studio to have a custom headphone or monitor mix, Furman will be featuring its HDS-16/HRM-16 headphone/monitor audio distribution system at its headphone monitoring demonstration.

The double-rack-space HDS-16 provides full patching functions on its front panel via 1/4-inch and TT input jacks, and is designed to be installed at the mixing console location. The HDS-16 provides power and signal conditioning to drive the HRM-16 remote mixers. In addition, it includes two 1/4-inch jacks for the two-way talkback functions, and a "solo remote" switch with an indicator that allows muting of all but one stereo feed at all HRM-16s. This feature allows the user to isolate tracks for critical listening without having to turn down all but one channel on the system. The "solo" function also includes a 1/4-inch jack so actuation can be done with a foot switch. Additionally, the rear panel includes six Centronics 50-pin connectors to link up to six HRM-16s (more if daisy chained).
