PMC Showcases Monitor Systems At AES Convention

October 12, 2007

During the 123rd AES Convention, The Professional Monitor Company showcased the popular IB2 Three-way Midfield and AML-1 active Two-way Monitors. PMC monitor systems are in service with most of the world's premiere music and film-sound recording studios, broadcast companies, post production and audio mastering facilities.

"The AML1 is as far from a 'me too' product as could be imagined," stresses Maurice Patist, PMC-USA's VP of Sales & Marketing. "The AML1 design is one of no compromise; the only way of achieving this goal is to manufacture the complete device in-house." The AML1 includes PMC's 6.5-inch flat piston woofer constructed from a carbon-fiber Nomex™ honeycomb, which allows large, controlled linear excursions capable of producing an astounding 33 Hz. The PMC 34 mm silk dome tweeter, which is common to all the large active models, provides an immense, stable image. The two drivers are integrated by discrete, low-noise active crossovers.

The IB2S is based on PMC's hugely successful IB1S with one major change to the driver complement. The addition of the PMC 75 large soft-dome mid-range unit increases the definition and clarity to the level of the larger monitors in the range, with no increase in cabinet size. "Since the launch of the IB2S, it has featured worldwide with high profile clients such as Ronald Prent/Galaxy, Kraftwerk/Kling Klang, Teldex/Berlin, JVC/Japan and many, many other leading facilities," Patist offers. "Its potent performance and unsurpassed definition across the audio spectrum make it the ideal reference monitor for any stereo or surround project."

PMC is also supplying BB5-XBD-A Large-Scale Reference Surround Monitoring Systems to the Audio Engineering Society for playback during the AES Seminar Program and judging of the Annual Student Competition. "PMC's continued support of both the AES Exhibition and Technical Program was fuelled by requests from the Society's Technical Council, who have insisted that PMC should supply the ultimate in high-resolution playback," Patist stresses.
