PRESS RELEASE
Hal Leonard Authors & Events at The AES Show
October 06, 2009
Advertisement We have a lot of exciting news this year at AES! A number of Hal Leonard authors will be on hand conducting panels, signing books, and meeting with fans and enthusiasts. If you will be attending the show please stop by and say what's up and if you would like any more info on any of these authors or books then do not hesitate to reach out. This year we will be located at booth #837. On Saturday, October 10, from 11:30AM - 1PM, Mr. Bonzai, author of the Berklee Press title Music Smarts will be hosting the "Platinum Artists Panel". Then at 3 pm, Bonz will be signing copies of Music Smarts in our booth (#837) along with several other contributors. Don't miss it! On Sunday, October 11, from 11:30AM - 1PM, legendary engineer Bruce Swedien, author of the newly released Hal Leonard book In The Studio With Michael Jackson, will be a guest on the "Platinum Producers and Engineers" panel moderated by Paul Verna. Other panelists include Mike Clink, Sylvia Massy, Dave Reitzas, and Tony Visconti. They will discuss their work behind the boards for some of the greatest musical moments on record. Following the panel at 2 PM, Mr. Swedien will be signing copies of In The Studio With Michael Jackson as well as his memoir Make Mine Music at the Hal Leonard Booth, #837. On Sunday, October 11 from 2 - 4PM, audio industry consultant, technical writer, and author Howard Massey moderates a panel based on his two best-selling titles Behind the Glass and Behind the Glass Volume II, both available from Backbeat Books. Mr. Massey has assembled a crack panel of engineers and producers, including Tony Brown, Simon Climie, Ryan Hewitt, George Massenburg, Ann Mincieli, and Russ Titelman to share stories from the trenches of some of the most notable sessions and studios around as well as offer a look ahead at the way that production techniques are likely to evolve in the years to come. Immediately after, Mr. Massey and other panel members will be signing copies of both Behind The Glass books at the Hal Leonard Booth, #837.
