Lexicon MPX R1 Remote Controller for MPX 1 Multi-EffectsNow guitarists can take the full power of Lexicon digital effects out of the studio and onto the stage with the MPX R1 MIDI Remote Controller, which also doubles as a stand-alone controller for any MIDI system. September 26, 1997 Lexicon, Inc., leading manufacturer of digital effects processing for live performance and studio applications, announces the MPX R1 MIDI Remote Controller, a foot operated "pedal board" style remote control device that can perform either as the dedicated remote controller for Lexicon's MPX 1 multi-effects signal processing system; or as a completely independent, stand-alone pedal board type remote for control of any MIDI-interfaceable system.
The MPX R1 was designed to maximize Lexicon's critically acclaimed MPX 1 Signal Processor for live performance. When an MPX 1 is plugged into the effects loop of an amplifier or stage rig, and controlled by an R1, guitarists and keyboardists can take their favorite studio effects on stage with numerous abilities, including: changing sounds with the tap of a foot; enhance special effects; layer ambiences as you would in a studio and change up to four independent amp channels instantly. In addition, the Lexicon MPX R1 features a single cable for power and two-way communication with the MPX 1, stomp-box style buttons and easy to read LED display.
Features of the new Lexicon MPX R1 include dual relays for remote switching of as many as four amplifier channels, MIDI program select and control, programmable expression pedal with toe switch, dedicated switches for TAP tempo setting (via MIDI Clock) and MPX 1 A/B switching. The MPX R1 is housed in a rugged, all-metal case that can take the rigors of the stage and is available this fall.
