New Analog I/O Cards for Yamaha's 01V, 02R, and 03D Digital Mixers

September 26, 1998

Yamaha Corporation of America, Pro Audio Group, announces two new expansion cards for use with the company's 01V Digital Mixer and a card for expanding the I/O capabilities of the 02R and 03D Digital Consoles. These new cards allow users to easily tailor their audio input and output configurations to handle a wide variety of analog signal situations, such as live recording and sound reinforcement applications.

MY8AD Interface Card

Yamaha Digital mixers have an option I/O slot allowing the user to configure the mixer's input and output structures. Any one of the MY8/4 series of I/O cards can be installed in the 01V's option I/O slot, allowing the user to configure the mixer for a broad range of analog or digital applications. The MY8AD Interface Card provides eight balanced 1/4-in. analog inputs when installed in the 01V Digital Mixer. The MY8AD has the ability to operate at either +4 or -10 dB line level.

When installed in the 01V's option I/O card slot, inputs 17-24 accept +4 dB or -10 dB sources, allowing 01V to be a mixer with 24 analog inputs. The additional connectivity provided by the MY8AD allows the 01V Digital Mixer to easily function as a powerful live sound mixer with extensive automation and sound processing capabilities. The MY8AD has an MSRP of $349 and is scheduled to ship in October, 1998.

MY4DA Interface Card

For users seeking the highest quality analog output from the 01V Digital Mixer, Yamaha has created the MY4AD Interface Card. When installed in the 01V's I/O expansion slot, the MY4AD's four balanced XLR connectors and 20-bit digital-to-analog converters expand the number of analog outputs from a total of six to ten, increasing the mixer's power for live sound and installed sound applications. The MY4DA has an MSRP of $249 and is currently shipping.

D24 Compatibility

The MY8/4 series of I/O cards can also be used in Yamaha's new D24 Digital Multitrack Recorder. This allows users to configure the D24 for a variety of analog and digital applications.

CD8ADS-New Analog Inputs for the 02R & 03D

For those wishing to expand upon the formidable interfacing capabilities of the 02R and 03D Digital Consoles, Yamaha has announced the CD8ADS Analog Input Card. The CD8ADS provides eight channels of high-quality analog input using balanced 1/4-in. connectors. This additional connectivity allows the 02R and 03D consoles to easily function as powerful live sound mixers with extensive automation and sound processing capabilities. The CD8AD has an MSRP of $399.

"Our live sound customers want a way to use the 02R, 03D and 01V in sound reinforcement applications," states Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Professional Audio Group. "These new cards make our digital mixers great for a broad range of live and installed sound installations."
