Sonic Foundry (AMEX: SFO), a leading developer and marketer of media authoring
tools and digital audio software for Windows®, announced today the addition
of two more titles to the growing assortment of original, royalty-free audio clips
(loop libraries) for its ACID family of music creation tools. This increases the
total number of libraries available in the collection to 25.
The two new libraries, Robin Storey's Rapoon and Marc Anderson's Dragon Dance,
include hundreds of ACIDized .WAV files which are optimized to take full advantage
of the ACID family's powerful loop arranging and editing features.
The Robin Storey Rapoon is a library of soundscapes notable not only for its
beauty and textures, but also for the subtle yet distinctive Indian rhythms and
atmospheres. A founding member of the prolific art music ensemble :zoviet-france:,
Robin Storey is the artistic genius behind more than a dozen critically acclaimed
solo releases.
Dragon Dance, featuring Marc Anderson's extraordinary percussion performances,
includes essential single solo instrument sounds and performances, as well as
the walls of tribal thunder that have made him one of the most distinctive and
original percussionists working today. Unique in the world of percussion libraries,
Dragon Dance is the perfect marriage of ancient and modern technologies, crafted
by an artist with an intimate understanding of both.
"We are very pleased to add these special libraries from two renowned
artists to our continually expanding ACID music development platform," said
Roy Elkins, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sonic Foundry. "Rapoon
and Dragon Dance truly have great synergy between them. Robin Storey's surreal
textures and soundscapes draw out the best aspects of Marc Anderson's riveting
African percussion music."
Sonic Foundry's ACID Music, ACID
Rock, and ACID DJ are powerful, yet easy-to-use music creation packages that
bring unprecedented creative flexibility to loop arranging and editing. With a
simple click-and-drag, users can combine and mix loops and make real-time changes
to pitch and tempo to create the perfect mix. ACID PRO, the complete professional
tool set, includes unlimited tracks, volume, pan, and effects control for each
track, support for multiple real-time DirectX effects, and easy access to Sonic
Foundry's Sound Forge application and other audio editors.
Sonic Foundry's ACID products are available for both the Windows 9x and Windows
NT platforms and require a 133 MHz processor with a Windows-compatible sound card.
A 400 MHz processor is recommended for real-time effects.
Robin Storey's Rapoon and Marc Anderson's Dragon Dance each sell for a suggested
retail price of $59.95 and are available directly from Sonic Foundry and music
dealers nationwide.
