SIB Introduces ISM 07 Invisible Shell Mic

December 13, 2000

SIB Systems, a german based manufacturer of drum microphones, mounting brackets pads and triggers, has announced the ISM 07 Invisible Shell Mic.

The ISM 07 is a small, lightweight internal moving coil, dynamic microphone, designed to mount inside a drumshell. It can be installed in toms ranging from 8" to 18" diameter, snaredrums, and other percussion instruments. No more mic stands around the drumset, no hole-drilling in drumshell, no soldering, lightweight solid construction, shockproofed mounting bracket, and the ISM 07 is easy to install

With a frequency-range from 50-16,000 hz, the ISM 07 is designed for a wide variety of drum and percussion instruments. The ISM 07 reduces pickup of unwanted sound from other drums or cymbals.

Installing the ISM 07 is very easy – simply loosen a screw of a tension lugbox inside the drumshell and mount the ISM 07 onto the lugbox. Pull the included XLR cable with the shurnken end-pins via the airhole of the drum and connect it to the shrunken pins on the ISM 07 capsule.

An advantage of the ISM 07 is that you can adjust the angle of the capsule. For example, if you mount the ISM 07 straight, mic head facing upwards the batter-head, you will hear a very hard, toppy kind of sound. As soon you angle the mic head facing towards the shell, the sounds get warm, punchy but still providing percussive attacks.

Details

The ISM 07 mounting bracket is made of steel, including a shock-proofed rubber attachment, which isolates noise and unwanted sounds from other drums.

Weight: 9 ounces including Mic-head and mounting bracket.
Dimensions: Mic-Head 3.2 inches long – diameter 1.2 inches
Grey enamel-painted rugged housing, position adjustable.

In combination with our KM Pro II, Bass Drum Microphone including internal mounting bracket, your drumset will look clean and visible – no extra hardware or stands around your drumset. When used in combination, using ISM 07 for Snare and Toms, KM Pro II for Kickdrum, the SC57/07 Classic Microphone can be used also as second Snare Mic fro outside sound reinforcement.
