Mezzo Backup System Now Supports Digital Performer

September 6, 2000

September 1, 2000. Mark of the Unicorn, Inc. (www.motu.com) is pleased to announce that Mezzo Version 3.7, the project backup system from Grey Matter Response, Inc. (www.mezzogmr.com), now supports Digital Performer 2.71, MOTU's flagship audio editor and MIDI sequencing software for MacOS. Mezzo provides thorough, reliable, transparent project backup with drag-and-drop ease. Digital Performer users simply drop their project folders into Mezzo and then Mezzo does the rest, scanning and collecting ‹ via background operation - all of the project's related files (audio files, analysis files, crossfades, clippings, etc.), even if they are spread across multiple storage devices. Performer users can continue to work on their projects during Mezzo backup operation.

Digital Performer projects often involve hundreds – and sometimes even thousands – of separate files. Mezzo is the most advanced system available for backing up, archiving and restoring them.

Mezzo has many advanced time-saving features for users with complex, multi-volume Digital Performer workstations. For example, if there isn't enough free space on the drive to which a project is being restored, Mezzo's Dynamic Restore* feature automatically redistributes project data and redirects Digital Performer to find the data at its new location. Mezzo supports many popular backup drives, including OnStream ADR, AIT, DataDAT, Exabyte and other standard storage and backup solutions.

Digital Performer is an audio sequencer that combines MIDI sequencing with digital audio recording, editing, mixing, processing and mastering. Digital Performer is the Electronic Musician 2000 Editors Choice award winner for audio sequencing software.

Digital Performer 2.71 and Mezzo 3.7 are now shipping.
