that the "Tubes, Tines & Transistors" virtual keyboard library is now
shipping for MacOS.
Tubes, Tines & Transistors is a collection of keyboard
instruments developed by BitHeadz in cooperation with respected keyboard
player and sound designer David Kerzner of Sonic Reality.
Similar to
other BitHeadz libraries, Tubes, Tines & Transistors includes the Unity
DS-1 sample playback engine for instant access to the sounds and tight
integration with popular audio/MIDI hardware and software.
Tubes, Tines & Transistors includes over 300 megabytes of content,
including samples of vintage organs, classic analog synthesizers,
mellotrons, and electric pianos. The library contains 116 banks and over
3,500 programs that provide a wide range of different filter settings,
modulation routings, and effects offering many possible variations for
each sampled instrument.
"I'm excited about these kinds of instruments reaching a broader range of
musician by actually integrating the sampler and the content into one
easy to use package," says David Kerzner, founder of Sonic Reality. "The
day has finally arrived where anyone with a computer can experience the
inspiration of having a world class collection of keyboard instruments
right there on their desktop."
Tubes, Tines & Transistors ($199 MSRP) supports OMS, FreeMIDI, ASIO,
Direct I/O, DirectConnect, MAS 2.0, ReWire, and Sound Manager, and is
optimized for Apple's G4 processor.
A Windows 95/98 version of Tubes, Tines & Transistors is expected to ship
