DSPDEV, a developer of audio studio tools, is introducing their newest offering: the Multicomp Series of compressors.

"The Multicomp series is a set of very unique products," commented Nicolas Choukroun, DSPDEV Owner and founder. "Forget that this is a only a software. It is more powerful, more creative and does his job better than any one we know, for a budget price. If you want to do a final product and sell it, whatever it is techno, metal, jazz or pop, you can't compete with professional productions without a professional compressor to finalize your mix, create juicy basses, flat snare drums... Multicomp is not aggressive, it will not destroy your sound, but it will add exactly what you want to."

"Depending on the algorithm (hard, shape1, Shape2, Shape3, Shape4, soft) chosen, the compressor will not act the same. We use an exclusive system. We call all it, Multicompression (so that's why it is called Multicomp !). The Multicompression is a way split the signal in several parts and apply different level of compression dynamically depending on the signal itself. The compressor will never compress the same way, and we have added some randomness to have something more natural and remove the 'too much digital', 'too much perfect' feeling."

Here is a list of its features:

  • 3 independent bands that can be set-up with only 2 buttons (HI/LOW) for an immediate and easy use.
  • Solo mode for each band. Band on/off.
  • Gain, threshold, ratio; attack, release for each band.
  • Fully Stereo (means 6 band processors, 4 filters)
  • Limiter with bypass and peak.
  • Gain IN and OUT. General Bypass
  • Look ahead feature for removing the ugly room effects that are in most compressors.
  • VTube with bypass specially programmed for adding the magic of the triodes.
  • 5 Types of compressions: Some compression algorithms are unique and very noticeable.
  • All the buttons have their corresponding number that can be edited for the most control over all the parameters.
  • Ultra powerful VU meters that can be use for compression threshold, Vtube enhancement drive or band output level. Very precise with 128.
  • 3 levels of peaks to avoid distortions and clips, at the band split, before the limiter, at the output.
  • 6 out for all the separate band output.
  • Stereoin, stereo out and midi support for all the parameters.
