Steinberg presents Nuendo 1.6, the latest version of Steinberg's flagship Nuendo Media Production System. As well as offering new software enhancements, Nuendo 1.6 also includes many new features such as VST System Link, AES 31 import/export and 192 kHz support.
The new features:
VST System Link
This breakthrough technology creates an intelligent network using a standard digital audio connection, linking several computers together to increase CPU power. VST System Link uses Steinberg's industry standard ASIO technology to send sync information (sample accurate), MIDI, and control audio data sent over the analog or digital connections. VST System Link can work across PC, Mac, desktops, or laptops making it easy to utilize any computer to increase your systems CPU power.
AES 31 Import and Export
Nuendo 1.6 offers import and export AES 31 EDLs, enabling projects created in Nuendo to be transferred to other professional systems that support the protocol such as Euphonix, Fairlight or SadiE. The AES 31 import function allows projects from these systems to be transferred to Nuendo for further work such as editing or mixing.
192 kHz Support
Nuendo 1.6 supports sampling rates up to 192kHz, enabling the import and export of audio data in DVD-A mastering quality. Some hardware manufacturers already offer audio cards with 192 kHz and full ASIO 2.0 support, which are fast becoming standard for professional applications.
Full Screen Video (PC Version)
Nuendo 1.6 now offers video playback in full screen mode in conjunction with standard graphics cards. Switching from window to full screen mode is as simple as clicking on the QuickTime or DirectShow video player being used. This function really comes into it's own when used with two monitors.
Nuendo 1.6 is free of charge for registered users as a download and is now shipping to dealers for new users for $1299.99 MSRP.
