Steinberg Media Technologies AG announced the new version of NUENDO 1.6 for Mac and PC. NUENDO is Steinberg's flagship audio and post-production recording and editing system. NUENDO is a native system featuring up to 200 tracks of digital audio, comprehensive surround sound mixing, a video-track, MIDI, a complete set of editing functions. Version 1.6 of Nuendo adds the all-new VST System Link technology, which uses Steinberg's own ASIO technology to link multiple computers together to tap into unlimited amounts of DSP power. Audio, MIDI, transport, and sample accurate sync are carried over standard digital audio cable, eliminating the need for complicated networking and set-up hassles.
Nuendo 1.6 now offers recording sample rates up to 192kHz to support the growing number of high-resolution digital audio converters entering the market. This, combined with Nuendo's 32-bit floating-point audio engine, provide the most pristine audio quality available today.
Nuendo 1.6 takes another step forward in providing the ultimate in flexibility. In addition to file formats such as OMF, Broadcast Wave, SDII, Premiere EDL, Open TL already included in Nuendo, version 1.6 now adds AES31 file format support. AES is an important new standard in file format transfer for multi-track recorders and workstations allowing integration of many different types of working environments. AES 31 is supported by several renowned brands as Fairlight, Euphonix, AV-Transfer and others.
