PMI Audio Group is now shipping the Toft Audio ATC-2 Dual Channel Compressor/EQ/Mic Pre. Designed by Trident Audio founder and audio engineer Malcom Toft, the ATC-2 puts two recording channels into a 2U rackmount design--complete with F.E.T. compression, 4-band EQ and high-quality microphone preamps.
The ATC-2 features two channels with switchable Mic/Line inputs and a direct Instrument input. Each channel has +48-volt phantom power. The dual-channel AFC-2 also comes with a 4-band equalizer consisting of Low, Low Mid, High Mid, and High bands. The Low and High bands are a shelving type with selectable turnover points, while the Low Mid and High Mid bands feature sweepable frequency bands. A convenient 50Hz low pass filter is also provided.
The compressor section uses F.E.T. processing for tight and punchy compression. Users can adjust the Attack, Release and Ratio parameters and view the results in the VU meters. The ATC-2's dual compressors can function independently, or they can be linked for stereo operation.
The chassis is made of heavy-duty anodized aluminum and includes an internal power supply. Connections to the ATC-2 include a two balanced XLR Mic input jacks, two balanced 1/4-inch Line inputs, two 1/4-inch Instrument inputs, plus a choice of balanced XLR or 1/4-inch outputs.
