Apogee Electronics Corporation announced that its AD-16X and DA-16X converters are now available worldwide through authorized dealers and distributors. The AD & DA-16X are designed to be the ultimate system for digital audio conversion and offer 192k sampling rates, the C777 clocking technology from Apogee's Big Ben, a redesigned power supply and analog section, and direct connectivity to Pro Tools HD with the X-HD card. FireWire enabled computers can be connect directly to Apogee's optional X-FireWire card.

Apogee's C777 clocking technology, established in the Big Ben, uses an all-digital process to generate stable clock signals that result in undetectable jitter according to the company. Also new to the X-Series units is Apogee's redesigned power-supply scheme. The new power system of the AD-16X & DA-16X incorporates a specially designed Synchronous Switching power supply that works in conjunction with the C777 clock and Apogee's filtering technology to provide superior transient response, low heat and noise performance beyond that of traditional linear power supplies.

Apogee spared no expense with the redesign of the X-Series analog section and optimized it by selecting premium, contemporary op-amps. And last but certainly not least, the AD & DA-X vastly increase connectivity options greatly by offering expansion card slots for the X-HD card which facilitates a direction connection to Pro Tools HD and the X-FireWire card which makes a professional FireWire based audio work station a reality.
