As part of a continuing expansion into the contractor/installation market,
Samson technologies is introducing the first contractor-specific unit in its line of S-Class
Processors: The S-Zone. The S-Zone is 4-channel stereo zone splitter/mixer for routing and controlling multi-zone audio systems.
The S-Zone gives system installers features they need to control up to four zones
of audio with a compact, single-rack space unit. It features balanced mic and 4 balanced
aux/line inputs, all of which are stereo/mono switchable. The front panel control
section allows you to assign any of the four inputs to any of the four zones with just the
push of a button. The front panel layout has input and output volume controls as well as
independent 2-band equalization on each zone output section.
Channels one and two also have balanced microphone inputs with available phantom
power and adjustable ducking control, so when announcements need to be made the
program material is automatically lowered.
Remote volume control is possible using simple VCA-DC 3-wire connection. Remote
volume controls can be hooked up in each zone, with no distance limitation.
The most unique feature set is the monitor section. Six segment LED VU meters monitor
the output of each zone. A zone selector and volume control allow the user to monitor
each zone using headphones, or using a micro "super-driver" built right into the front
panel. As the user switches through the zones, they can hear the mix of each zone at their
representative levels.
The S-Zone comes with Euro-block screw terminal input and output
connections for ease of installation and service. For more information, visit their web site at www.samsontech.com. |
