Roland Introduces KR-575 Intelligent Piano

New Features Include a Touch Screen and Innovative Vocal Features

July 10, 1998Roland Corporation U.S. introduces the KR-575, the newest flagship of its popular KR line of intelligent pianos.

The KR-575's innovative LCD touch panel gives players easy, straightforward control of all user operations. It displays information such as tone and style names with easy-to-understand icons--just touch the on-screen icon and a selection has been made. Onboard help is also available, making the KR-575 one of the most intuitive digital musical instruments on the market.

By simply turning on the Harmonist function, users can easily add beautiful vocal harmony. There's even a special Voice Transformer that can change a man's voice into a woman's, an adult's voice into a child's, or make anyone sound like a robot. The KR-575 also features new innovative vocal sounds, including stereo-sampled Jazz scatting and Choir sounds.

From its majestic bass to clear treble, the KR-575 offers enhanced stereo-sampled sound with individually refined, acoustic piano quality notes. This amazing sound source is complemented by Roland's high-quality 88-note hammer-action keyboard, which has a natural touch and an adjustable response to suit individual playing styles.

From lush piano to violin, guitar and saxophone, the KR-575 offers a wide range of instrument sounds, as well as incredible sound effects that include applause and rainfall. The KR-575 also provides Sympathetic Resonance effects and rotary effects to greatly expand the expressive possibilities of a player's music.

The KR-575's Intelligent Arranger function lets pianists play as if they were members of a band or orchestra. When a musicisan plays a simple chord with his left hand, the KR-575 automatically adds professional accompaniment to the performance. The KR-575's Style Orchestrator function lets users easily select the number of "players" and the composition of each arrangement.

There are also 160 onboard music styles to choose from, including pops, jazz and big band, and players can add additional styles with optional MSA disks. Players can even use the KR-575's advanced composing functions to create and save their own original music styles for instant recall.

Using music data files, the KR-575 gives players access to a whole new world of interactive performance and instruction. These files offer fully orchestrated versions of popular songs and styles that can be easily muted for practice. The built-in 16-track sequencer lets players create their own amazing ensemble parts, while a built-in rhythm pattern library make it easy to add a rhythm section to any song.

The KR-575 actually makes learning to play the piano fun. A built-in game helps music learners develop a sense of sound and rhythm. And keeping time has also become more fun with dog, cat, and vocal count metronome functions and a bouncing ball display.

The KR-575 is available in three striking finishes: oak, warm satin mahogany and elegant polished mahogany. With its traditional styling, striking cabinet finishes and advanced features, the KR-575 is everything a world-class digital piano should be.
