TASCAM proud to introduce the CD-302 dual CD player
and remote controller. Now shipping, the CD-302's feature set is designed
for the professional DJ, including True Instant Start, Beat Matching and
Tempo Sync, Independent Tempo/Pitch adjustments and built-in Sampler.
The CD-302 is the answer for today's busy and innovative DJ.Designed for
the Professional DJ and Now Shipping, the Unit's Split Design Allows the
CD Transport to be Remotely Rackmounted while the Controls Can be Mounted
Close to the Mixer.
"The CD-302's audio may be manipulated in creative ways never before
possible," says Jim Bailey, TASCAM product specialist. "The
unique Tempo/Sync feature allows tempo and beats to automatically be matched
between two CDs. TASCAM has received many requests from the DJ community
to produce a unit such as the CD-302 combining these unique and powerful
features with TASCAM's solid reputation for reliability."
The CD-302 is housed in a 2U, 19-inch rackmount enclosure. The remote
is housed in a 3U, 19-inch rackmount enclosure which can also be mounted
flat in a DJ coffin case. The unit's two CD players act independently-one
CD can be cued up while the second is playing. The CD-302 incorporates
a built-in sampler that can loop a section of audio in either Play or
Cue mode. Samples can also be reversed. Pitch and tempo can be changed
independently and can be adjusted over a ± 32 percent
range. A built-in RAM buffer allows for a 10-second shock buffer and
instant start. Great sounding analog-style scratching is easy with the
large JOG wheel on the remote. Preset and cue memory locations may be
stored and recalled using a 10-key pad.
"A unique feature of the CD-302 is the ability to analyze both
the tempo and downbeats of two different CDs and then adjust the pitch
of the cued CD to match the tempo and downbeat of the playing CD without
affecting the pitch," explains Bailey. "This allows the DJ to
perform flawless crossfades from one CD to another during performances."
The CD-302's CD Control Module includes enough RAM for unlimited looping
and 10 seconds of sampling. The CD Control Module also includes Auto Cue,
Sleep Function, Tap Tempo Button, Pitch Slider and intuitive Pitch Bend
using the JOG Wheel.
Sampling could not be any easier with the CD-302. It is possible to
sample 10 seconds of audio and play it back forward or reversed. The sampled
sound can be played back when the source CD is still in Play or Loop mode.
The CD-302's Player Module houses CD transports that can play back standard
CD disks, 3-inch CD disks and CD-RW disks. It connects to the CD Remote
via cable. The Player Module has an AC power switch with LCD status indicator
and two Open/Close switches, one assigned to each transport
