Alesis Introduces Q20 Digital Master Effects Processor
January 29, 1998
Alesis Corporation announced the introduction of their Q20 Master Effects Processor at the winter NAMM show, according to Jim Mack, Alesis Vice-President of Marketing. The Q20 replaces the Q2 in Alesis' signal processing product line as their premiere multieffects processor. It will be available this spring with a suggested retail price of $999 (US).
"The Q20 combines the feature set and sonic quality that pros have requested from Alesis for a long time, along with the most powerful effects processing engine we've ever developed," said Mack.
The Q20 offers high-quality effects for professional recording studios, live sound reinforcement rigs and post production facilities. It's the first Alesis effects processor to provide an internal power supply, making it applicable for professional live sound rigs and permanent installation. The Q20 fits into any recording environment with its XLR and 1/4" audio connectors, state-of-the-art 20 bit digital converters, and ADAT Optical and S/PDIF digital inputs and outputs for lossless digital interfacing to digital mixers and workstations. Up to eight fully-programmable effects can be run in series, parallel, or even fed back into themselves for complete sonic control. Some of the available effects include hall, room and plate reverb, graphic and parametric EQ, flanging, chorus, pitch shifting, delay, rotary speaker simulation, overdrive, autopanning with Doppler effect, stereo sampling and many more. The Q20 includes 300 total programs, including 100 preset and 200 spaces for user-designed programs. For more information, visit their web site at www.alesis.com. |
