Vic Firth Adds New Signature and American Concept® SticksHarvey Mason, Alex Acuna, and Will Calhoun January 29, 1998Vic Firth Inc., the world's leading drumstick manufacturer, is adding three new drumsticks to its popular line of Vic Firth Signature and American Concept® drumsticks. Alex Acuna and Harvey Mason are long established and well respected Vic Firth artists. Both have brought a newly designed stick to the market. Will Calhoun is a recent and welcomed addition to the Vic Firth family of percussionists.
Alex Acunas unique style of playing requires an equally unique style of stick. His new hickory drumset stick features a long tapered shoulder with a reverse taper at the neck for fast cymbal response and excellent feel. Its blunt-nosed barrel tip provides a broad and deep cymbal sound. The stick dimensions are 16 3/8" in length with a thickness of .545". The model number is SAA3.
Harvey Mason uses a slightly scaled down version of his original Signature model when he needs a lighter touch and extra definition on the cymbals. This hickory stick with brown stain finish features a thinner neck for fast response and a smaller round tip with clear finish for an incredible cymbal sound. The stick dimensions are 16" in length with a thickness of .545". The model number is SHM2.
Vic Firth's new hickory stick for Will Calhoun features a medium round tip with a short taper for strength and extra length for greater playing leverage. The stick dimensions are 16 1/2" in length with a thickness of .575". The model number is WC. For more information, visit their web site at www.vicfirth.com. |
