|
January 28, 1999beyerdynamic announces the release of two
new large diaphragm condenser microphones designed for the project studio
environment. Each utilizes a large diaphragm electret condenser transducer
and are transformerless in design.
The flagship is the MCE 90. A side fire design intended for vocal recording
and on-air/voice over recording in broadcast. The MCE 90 has a liner frequency
response and a tight cardioid polar pattern. This completely new design
has exceptionally low self-noise characteristics for an electret condenser,
(greater than 72dB) and can handle exceptionally high sound pressure levels.
The microphone comes with a switchable pre-attenuation pad and a low cut
filter and will operate on phantom power of 12 to 48 volts dc.
The MCE 91 is a hand held version of the MCE 90 without the attenuation
pad or the low cut filter. Its extremely tight polar pattern, extended
liner frequency response, and high SPL capabilities make it ideal for
the most demanding vocal situation either in the studio or on the stage.
